DIY - Christmas Lights Nail Tutorial

So basically the other day I was browsing through my never ending Pintrest feed when I saw these nails, I loved them and thought as I had a little bit of time on my hands I would do these nails. They are relativity easy to do so I thought I would give it ago and see how they turned out. I was very happy with the result so I thought I would put a little post together to show you how I made them. It is simple with only a few steps.

What I used to create this look:
Thin black cotton
Natural collection Clear nail paint
Collection (2000) White nail polish
L'Oreal Colour Riche in shade: Rouge Pin Up (red)
Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine in shade: Key Lime (green)
Nail Clippers
A nail are dotter

Step one : This step is optional but I applied the Natural collection clear polish to all of my nails as a base coat.

Step two : Next I painted my nails white with the collection 2000 white nail polish, I had to do a couple of coats of this because I wanted to ensure that my nails were 100% white.

Step 3 : Here comes the fiddly part, I cut my black cotton into about 2 inch strips just to make it a little easier to apply. I then continued nail by nail starting to apply the cotton to do this, I painted a nail applied the cotton, don't worry if the cotton frays a little as we can sort this out later. Paint the nail with clear varnish, and then place the cotton into the prefered position on the nail, the wavier it is the cooler it looks I think. When you have placed the cotton onto the nail ensure that its all stuck into the clear varnish before moving onto the next one. Cut any over hang off with the nail clippers or scissors.

Step 4 : Then I painted another coat of clear nail polish over to ensure that the cotton was stuck.

Step 5 : Then get your coloured nail polishes they don't have to be red and green they can be any colour, but you will want to take a scrap piece of paper or something, and place a blob of each colour onto the paper.

Step 6 : You will then want to get your dotting tool, If you don't have a dotting tool you can use a bobbi pin and just straighten it out, it will work the same. You will then want to start putting your lights onto the cotton, in any random order.

Step 7 : Put on a topcoat of your choice and there you have it, your festive nails.

Tips
Make sure you leave plenty of time between nail polish coats to ensure that they are completly dry,
If you don't have black cotton use a different colour and create more colourful lights

Glossy Box December

If you are a regular reader you may have noticed that I didn't review my November glossy box content that's because I wasn't overly wowed by the content.
I received my December box today and was quite pleased by what it contained. The box is super festive, it looks like my idea of a Christmas box, I am happy with the design of the box, but I'm not really overwhelmed by the products inside.

I was happy with all that the box contained this month I just thought that they could have maybe slipped in a little Christmasy treat.

I have been wanting to buy one of these for a while but never really got round to it, so I am very happy with the Maybelline Colour Tattoo 24hr, I got this product in shade 05 - Eternal Gold. I can't wait to try this cream eye shadow out, If I like it I will be sure to let you all know. When I was looking though the box I firstly came across this product mainly because it was massive and took up the whole box, this is a razor from Wilkinson sword Intuition this product is the Naturals Razor. When I read more about this It came to my attention that you can use this with out shaving gel or body wash. This is a 3 in 1 product that lathers, moisturises and shaves. I think that this will be perfect for the party season. Click here to buy this product for £6.49

This is the Seche nail lacquer in shade RoseII there is not much to say about this product until I have used it. I do quite like the shade and I think that I might have on my nails very soon.

Review, L'Oreal Paris Nude Magique Foundation

I don't normally do many reviews because I don't feel as though I have enough to say about the product or it has been massivily talked about on a number of other blogs.
But I really thought I should share this product with you all.
This is the L'Oreal Paris Nude Magique eau de teint foundation, I picked up this foundation, not thinking much about it about a month ago. I thought the coverage would be too light. But anyway less rambling.

I actually can't get enough of this product, its so light on the skin that it feels like no base is being worn, I wear this foundation to work almost everyday and its just perfect. I have been asked and complemented about the foundation I have/haven't been wearing. There is only one downfall to this product and its the fact that it doesn't have a pump its a open bottle so it does get quite messy if you're not careful also sometimes I feel like I put too much foundation on just because i don't want to waste the product that I have put onto my hand.
This is a great price and I would recommend this highly.
I have this in shade 110 warm ivory

This is what the foundation looks like on my skin I have used powder because I have quite oily skin.
